    Melanie Driscoll is Director of Bird Conservation for the Louisiana Coastal Initiative. She leads Audubon's efforts to identify, prioritize, monitor and implement conservation initiatives for Important Bird Areas in Louisiana, sites that provide important habitat for populations of birds during all seasons. More recently, she has spearheaded Audubon's intensive conservation planning in the Atchafalaya River Basin.

    Dr. Paul Kemp is Vice President, Louisiana Coastal Initiative. He has an extensive background in coastal restoration and policy, and plays a key role in Audubon’s larger conservation initiative along the Mississippi River. Based in Baton Rouge, he leads a team that includes Timmy Vincent, manager of the Paul J. Rainey Sanctuary; Melanie Driscoll, Director of Bird Conservation; and Carla Landry, administrative manager.

    Administrative Manager Carla Landry joined Audubon in August 2008. She was Executive Director of the Louisiana Workforce Commission for Governor Kathleen Blanco from 2006 to 2008, and she worked as Administrator for the commission from 1997 to 2006. At Audubon, she is responsible for planning and administration in Louisiana.

    Timmy Vincent, Senior Sanctuary Manager, is based at Paul J. Rainey Wildlife Sanctuary in southwestern Louisiana. He is a native of Vermilion Parish. He has supervised numerous marsh creation projects at Rainey Sanctuary and elsewhere. Before coming to Audubon in the mid-1990s, he was was an oilfield worker and held other jobs in the energy industry.

    Atchafalaya River Basin Program Manager Karen Westphal holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from Louisiana State University and has extensive experience researching the habitats and geological processes of coastal Louisiana. She has worked for LSU, the University of New Orleans and the Louisiana Geological Survey in a variety of capacities.
