The Mississippi River is one of the nation's most important ecological assets. Its watershed covers 41 percent of the continental U.S. and forms a globally significant flyway providing diverse habitat for more than 325 species of birds. America’s River is also a national treasure of tremendous cultural and economic importance. But decades of mismanagement have taken a grim toll on the Mississippi and its surrounding ecosystem, including the river's fast-eroding delta and marsh complex in Louisiana. Join us we work to protect the Mississippi River for birds, other wildlife, people and communities.
